Manager Research & Development

The Manager Research and Development will research and analyze existing operational data and develop options, alternatives and opportunities for expanding and reviewing existing services as well as developing new services for the landowners, tenants and other clients of TLTB.
Job description: TLTB invites applications from qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Manager Research & Development based at the TLTB Head Office in Suva. Full role description can be obtained from the application link provided below.
 
The key outcomes include:
  • Leadership and management of the Research & Development (R&D) department, functions and resources.
  • Identification of commercial opportunities for land information services.
  • Provision of accurate landuse information to regional offices.
  • Management of relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective partnership for the management of iTaukei land.
  • Providing land use advice to the Board and Management.
  • Ensure compliant land use activities.
  • Stakeholder relationships developed and strengthened
  • Review Estate Management policies, identify new business opportunities and new research on emerging concepts with recommendations to enhance TLTB business.
 
Minimum requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
  • A degree in Real Estate/Land Management, Business Management or relevant discipline with 5-7 years of relevant work experience. A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a relevant discipline with relevant work experience related to natural resource planning and development would be an added advantage.
  • Experience with investment and development of commercial operations would be an advantage.
  • Experience in natural resource management, in particular land policy analysis, development work in sustainable land use related issues.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the iTaukei Land Acts, iTaukei Land management legislation and systems, current international issues on indigenous Landownership and rights.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good people management and communication skills, decision-making and organizing skills.

Compensation: Salary: The position carries a competitive salary package based on experience and qualification.
