August 2, 2024The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) recently assisted the Soqosoqo Vakamarama in Navutulevu, Serua, in appreciation of their hospitality during the TLTB Senior Managers Meeting held in June.
TLTB CEO, Mr. Solomoni Nata, highlighted that this initiative is part of the Board’s ongoing community outreach efforts. He emphasized the importance of connecting with the iTaukei community and bridging the gap that has existed for decades between TLTB and one of its key stakeholders – the landowners.
Turaga ni Koro, Mr. Uraia Ratulevu, expressed deep gratitude for hosting the TLTB Senior Managers Meeting, noting that it opened up numerous opportunities for the villagers. Salaseini Nakacia, head of the women’s group, shared her enthusiasm, stating that the items, including tables, chairs, a cupboard, a water urn, cooking pots and stainless-steel chafing dish, will greatly enhance their ability to serve visitors and generate economic benefits for the group.
These items will be available for hire to generate income for the women’s group of Navutulevu.
The TLTB delegation included CEO Mr. Solomoni Nata, GM Landowners Affairs Mr. Peni Qalo, Property Officer Mr. Taniela Taukeinikoro, Administration Officer Ms. Taraivosa Vora, Administration Assistant Mr. Esala Tale, and Manager Research & Policy Ms. Sereana Tuisabeto.
Through such meaningful gestures, TLTB continues to strengthen its bond with the iTaukei community, fostering mutual growth and understanding.
