October 9, 2024Nakalawaca Village, Namara, Tailevu, 5th October, 2024:
The Head Office staff and the Central Eastern Division came together for a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity at Nakalawaca Village in Namara, Tailevu. The team led by CEO Mr. Solomoni Nata dedicated their day to planting mangroves, a vital initiative aimed at enhancing the natural infrastructure of the area.
Mangroves play a crucial role in protecting nearby populated regions by reducing erosion and absorbing the impacts of storm surges during extreme weather events such as hurricanes. Additionally, they are essential to the ecosystem, with their dense roots helping to bind and build soils, thus contributing to the overall health of the environment.
The village community warmly welcomed the TLTB staff and prepared a delicious lunch. To end the day a Talanoa session was conducted, fostering an open dialogue and strengthening the bond between the TLTB and the Village community.
This CSR activity not only highlighted the importance of environmental conservation but also underscored the value of community collaboration and cultural exchange.
