PINKTOBER 2025 | TLTB STANDS IN SUPPORT
October 16, 2025On 10th October 1970, our beloved Fiji raised her flag for the first time as an independent nation. Tomorrow, we mark 55 years of Independence – a journey of challenges, blessings and resilience that has shaped who we are today as Fijians.
This year, the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) joined the nation in celebration through a week of activities that brought our staff together across Head Office and regional offices. From essays and talanoa, to traditional food and kalavata – our people came out strong to honour Fiji Day in true veiwekani spirit:
Monday: Essay writing on “55 Glorious Years” where staff shared reflections on Fiji’s journey.
Tuesday: Traditional Knowledge Awareness – staff learned and demonstrated cultural protocols and veiqaraqaravi.
Wednesday: Traditional Food Competition – teams prepared favourites like vakalolo, waite, and other provincial delicacies.
Thursday (Fiji Day): Colourful Kalavata Competition and Talanoa session, where staff celebrated unity and shared stories, with prizes for the best dressed and best teamsTLTB FIJI DAY CELEBRATION.
In his Fiji Day message, CEO Solomone Nata reminded us of our responsibility as custodians of native land and as citizens of Fiji:
“TLTB has stood the test of time as a provider for nation building, social security and as a champion of the iTaukei people. Today, we are at a crossroad to lift the welfare of our people through genuine participation in the economy, as owners and entrepreneurs.
We must have the passion, capacity and attitude to make these changes, not only for ourselves but also for the generations to come.”
He also reminded that TLTB must stand as a beacon of hope and unity:
“TLTB must be a source of relief from hurt, hope from despair, fairness from prejudices… uplifting from the downtrodden, and above all, fearing our God Jehovah and Christ our Saviour.”
The CEO thanked the President, Prime Minister, TLTB Chairman and Trustees, and acknowledged the efforts of all staff who took part in the Fiji Day program, saying their unity and spirit reflected the true heart of TLTB.
As we celebrate Fiji @ 55, let us give thanks to God, honour the journey of our forefathers, and commit ourselves to a brighter future for our families, our land, and our beloved Fiji.
In God we trust. God bless Fiji!
“If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14
