A BRAND NEW TRACTOR FOR TOKATOKA VUNATAWA IN SABETO
November 5, 2025On Wednesday, 29th October 2025, Hon. Ifereimi Vasu proudly handed over one fiberglass boat and two outboard engines in Lautoka under the Taukei Development Fund Facility (TDFF)—a powerful initiative by the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) to uplift landowners through business support.
Hon. Vasu commended TLTB’s efforts, saying the assistance enables landowners to actively participate in economic development and contribute meaningfully to the national economy.
Meet the Recipients:
Mr. Atunaisa Tauvoli from Bukama Village, Yasawa
Received: 60HP outboard engine valued at $12,000
Already running a grocery store, Mr. Tauvoli will now use his upgraded boat to improve logistics and transport passengers to and from Yasawa Island.
Mr. Tauvoli recalled that his first introduction to the Taukei Development Fund Facility (TDFF) came when the CEO of TLTB, Mr. Solomone Nata, personally visited him. Upon learning about the initiative, Mr. Tauvoli didn’t hesitate—he immediately asked if he could be considered for assistance, given that he was already operating a business in Bukama Village.
“Although the process took some time, I’m truly grateful to the management and staff of TLTB for their kind support and facilitation,” he said.
Mr. Jone Wasawasa from Natawa Village, Waya
Received: Fully equipped fiberglass boat + 40HP engine worth $23,000
With safety gear onboard, Mr. Wasawasa is set to boost his tourist transport business. He shared that although demand was high, growth was slow—until now. Thanks to TDFF, he’s ready to scale up and serve both tourists and locals better.
He said that the family business was in real need of an injection and was very thankful to TLTB for supporting indigenous business and landowners to grow their business and thrive.
