TLTB EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP 2026
December 11, 2025Speaking in Parliament, the Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Hon. Ifereimi Vasu, highlighted the integrated work being delivered through the iTaukei Wealth Fund and the Taukei Development Fund Facility (TDFF) — initiatives designed to turn landownership into genuine, sustainable economic power for iTaukei landowners nationwide.
Established using the 10% poundage levy approved in 2024, the iTaukei Wealth Fund is focused on building inter-generational wealth and is strategically allocated across five priority areas:
• 25% – Compensation for lease-end improvements
• 20% – Equity contributions and joint venture partnerships
• 20% – Land development and property investments
• 30% – Support for entrepreneurial ventures, especially youth-led businesses
• 5% – Education & Skills Development, including the TLTB iTaukei Education
Scholarship for key disciplines such as medicine, engineering, aviation, agriculture, IT, environmental science, and business management.
Hon. Vasu explained that the TDFF is the operational arm driving real outcomes on the ground, providing landowners with access to affordable financing to:
• Develop land and property projects
• Build farm infrastructure and purchase machinery
• Support subdivisions and commercial ventures
• Expand agriculture, tourism, fisheries, retail, and service businesses.
The Facility also directly supports landowning units and cooperatives, empowering rural youth and communities to generate income and move from subsistence to enterprise.
With strong national uptake and positive repayment performance, the TDFF is already demonstrating growing success — backed by financial counselling, responsible lending standards, and strengthened governance through Qelemaroroi Holdings and its Credit Finance arm.
Together, these initiatives form a unified wealth-building strategy, aimed at ensuring iTaukei landowners use their land not just as a passive asset — but as a powerful engine for prosperity today and for generations to come.
