TLTB AND NAVUSO AGRICULTURE EMPOWER YOUNG FARMERS THROUGH FUTURE FARMER PROGRAM

TLTB EXECUTIVE & SENIOR MANAGERS PAY COURTESY VISIT TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF FIJI
December 24, 2025The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) yesterday marked a milestone in Ba with the handover of a farm tractor under the Taukei Development Fund Facility (TDFF).
CEO Mr. Solomone Nata, officiated the ceremony, delivering the very first tractor to the tikina of Bulu through the TDFF initiative.
Speaking in the iTaukei dialect, Turaga ni Mataqali, Mr. Akariva Saunokonoko, reflected on the significance of the moment. He noted that while land has always been there, villagers and members of the mataqali often rely solely on lease money. “Yesterday was a new beginning,” he said, “because now we have something tangible to work with—for our livelihoods and for our children’s future.”
For Mataqali Sasarava of Natunuku Village, the tractor represents more than machinery—it is a catalyst for agricultural growth. With improved access to modern farming equipment, landowners and farmers can prepare land more efficiently, boost productivity, and strengthen sustainable agricultural development on iTaukei land.
The event was also attended by Acting Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Cama Raimuria, and Acting GM Corporate, Mr. Epeli Ravula, underscoring the collective support behind the initiative.
This successful delivery through the TDFF highlights TLTB’s ongoing commitment to empowering landowning units across Fiji, ensuring that communities like Mataqali Sasarava step confidently into a future of self-reliance and economic prosperity.
