As part of TLTB’s New Business Direction, a meeting was held with the members of Tokatoka Wadigi of Lauwaki Village, Vuda, Ba, involving the Landowners Empowerment Team and Trust and Estate Teams.
It also aligns with its first two mission statement; which states that in the best interest of the landowners, we will:
(1) Deliver competent and resilient estate land management services to itaukei owners and all our stakeholders,
(2) Provide the best financial and investment services to the iTaukei landowners to achieve landowner entrepreneurship and ensure sufficient land are reserved to meet their immediate and future needs.
Manager Landowners Empowerment (West) Mr George Waqasaqa said the discussions focused on key land matters, investment opportunities, and new business initiatives aimed at creating long-term benefits and sustainable wealth for present and future generations of landowners.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss funds held with the Board, with landowners agreeing that:
Individual funds will be distributed in accordance with the provisions of their Trust Deed. Remaining funds will be placed on hold until further notice. Investment funds will remain untouched to support future development plans and wealth creation initiatives. Internal LOU matters will be addressed by the landowners, who will formally advise TLTB of any agreed changes.TLTB remains committed to working closely with landowning units to unlock opportunities, strengthen investments, and ensure that land resources continue to deliver meaningful and lasting economic benefits for landowners and their descendants.
