TLTB SUPPORTS GROWTH OF QOMA ENTERPRISE WITH NEW TRANSPORT FLEET

The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) recently held its Strategic Management Meeting (SMM) in Nabukaluka, Naitasiri, bringing together senior managers from the Head Office in Suva, Central Eastern, North-West (Lautoka), South-West (Nadi) and the North (Labasa) to discuss key organisational priorities, service delivery improvements, and initiatives aimed at empowering landowners.
Opening the meeting, CEO Mr Solomone Nata reiterated the importance of servant leadership, reminding staff that,”It is a privilege to serve.” Discussions focused on improving customer service, addressing operational challenges, and updates on TLTB’s corporate restructuring and office relocation plans.
Marama Bale na Roko Tui Waimaro Ro Lusiana Tinanikairewa thanked TLTB for choosing Nabukaluka as the venue for its Management Meeting, saying the engagement provided valuable awareness and would contribute to greater understanding, stronger partnerships, and future development opportunities for landowners.
During the presentations, staff shared insights on digital transformation, cybersecurity, data-sharing initiatives, climate change, and other strategic programmes being undertaken across the organisation. Presentations from various departments highlighted TLTB’s commitment to innovation, organisational excellence, and supporting landowners through responsive services and sustainable development strategies.
A key highlight of the visit was the talanoa session with the Vanua o Navunibua (Marama na Roko Tui Waimaro), where village members discussed challenges affecting landowners, including access to finance and income-generating opportunities.
Mr Nata added that the purpose of taking our SMM to villages is not only to strengthen TLTB’s operations but also to better understand the needs of landowners and help them realise the full potential of their land resources.
The talanoa session also covered awareness on land leasing processes, the distinction between Government-owned and TLTB-administered land, and opportunities for small business development. In support of local economic empowerment, TLTB pledged $3,000 towards initiatives for the women of Nabukaluka and committed to further awareness programmes in partnership with the Tourism and Landowner Empowerment teams.
