May 7, 2024A workshop was organized by the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) at Matailobau in Naitasiri, aimed at illuminatingh the path forward for the village’s business endeavors. Representatives from various sectors, ranging from agriculture to tourism, eagerly participated, sensing the opportunity for growth and development. They spoke of the board’s business direction, outlining strategies to empower local entrepreneurs and harness the potential of the village’s resources. As the day progressed, minds ignited with inspiration and ideas. Discussions flowed freely, weaving a tapestry of innovation and collaboration. Together, they drafted six Landowner Utilization (LOU) Advisory Plans, tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of each landowner group. These plans promised to unlock the latent potential of Matailobau’s lands, fostering sustainable growth and prosperity. Following the discussions, joint inspections were conducted, allowing participants to witness firsthand the opportunities awaiting them on their respective lands. This month a significant milestone was reached. LOU Profiling templates were issued, providing a structured framework for landowners to assess and leverage their assets effectively.
