FIRST CHURCH SERVICE & CEO SESSION 2026
January 8, 2026
ME DA TU VATA, KA ME DA TU VAKAUKAUWA NA KAWA ITAUKEI ENA NODA DELA NI VANUA
January 22, 2026TLTB Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Solomone Nata, met with water taxi operators at Nasali Landing on Tuesday, 20th January 2026, responding to their request for guidance on how they could benefit from the Taukei Development Fund Facility (TDFF).
On his way to a Tikina Consultation in Vutia, Rewa, Mr. Nata and his team made a brief stop at Nasali Landing, where more than ten operators gathered to hear directly from him. The meeting provided an important opportunity for the operators to gain clarity on how TLTB’s new business direction supports iTaukei entrepreneurs.
Mr. Nata is fully aware that the majority of water taxi operators serving the Rewa River passage do not own the boats they operate but instead work under others for a modest wage of around $100 per week. He explained that through the TDFF, operators can access financing to purchase boats and outboard engines at an affordable interest rate of just 2.5 percent, with no deposit required. The TDFF initiative is aimed at empowering iTaukei entrepreneurs by strengthening their enterprises and enabling them to become true owners of their businesses.
The announcement was met with enthusiasm, and since the meeting, the TLTB team has already begun receiving calls from interested individuals eager to take advantage of the facility. This engagement reflects TLTB’s commitment to empowering landowners and fostering sustainable economic opportunities for iTaukei businesses in Fiji.
