The Landowners Affairs Division of the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) recently conducted consultations across all three villages in the district of Toga, Rewa, on the 21st and 22nd of February.
Led by General Manager Landowners Affairs Mr. Peni Qalo, the team shared the vision of reconnecting with landowners. They highlighted new developments such as the iTaukei Wealth Fund, the new lease distribution units (for lease monies collected by TLTB), and the minors funds.
During the consultations, LOU members had the opportunity to inquire about procedures followed by the Board, including new changes that came into effect since January this year. They also raised issues regarding expired leases, rent reassessment, native and crown grants, past sales of subdivision lots, and the reversion of extinct mataqali lands. The team received a warm reception from the Yavusas within each village and looks forward to more dialogues throughout the year.
