GCC Chair pays a courtesy visit to TLTB

On the 3rd of April, the Board took the time to update the GCC Chair Na Turaga Sau Ratu Viliame Seruvakula on his brief visit to head office. Welcomed by the Executive Management, Ratu Seruvakula was updated on the Boards new direction, the history of native land tenure, the iTaukei wealth fund, new lease distribution, minor’s funds, etc.

Those also in attendance included the Board Secretary, the Reserves Commissioner, and ASEO Waqalevu. Ratu Seruvakula commended the informative presentations prepared and acknowledged the efforts made so far in terms of the Boards new direction for landowning units.

This is the first visit of the GCC Chair to the Board. In being the GCC Chair, Ratu Seruvakula has the responsibility to safeguard the interests of the iTaukei in terms of economic development and social wellbeing. At the conclusion of the session, traditional protocols would follow suit with additional informal discussions. .
