Kadavu Ministerial Tour Concludes Successfully
The Minister for iTaukei Affairs and Chairman of TLTB Hon. Ifereimi Vasu completed his two weeks-long tour to Kadavu last week with great success.
All iTaukei institutions, including TLTB, participated in this trip, promoting collaborative approaches and commercial solesolevaki for the development of our natural resources. The tour was highly productive, allowing us to engage with the Chiefs and Landowners through awareness and consultation sessions.
Key accomplishments of the tour included:
- Visibility: Strengthened relationships with Chiefs, landowners, and communities. We visited the Tikina Ravitaki, Naceva, Sanima, Ono, Nakasaleka, and Yale. There were special cases too that we attended in the districts of Tavuki and Yawe.
- Awareness: Communicated the business strategic direction for iTaukei institutions, including the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs (MTA), iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB), iTaukei Trust Fund Board (TTFB), Fijian Holdings Ltd (FHL), and iTaukei Affairs Board (TAB).
- Title Confirmation: Confirmation of Title Holders by the Chairman of the iTaukei Land & Fisheries Commission (TLFC).
- Land Ownership Clarification: Provided clarifications on land ownership to claimants by the TLFC.
- Consultations: Held consultations on new lease applications.
- Complaint Resolution: Conducted GPS tracking of complaint cases.
- Business Development: Identified opportunities for landowners’ business development.
- Community Development – Identification of strategic areas for services improvement and welfare for communities in Kadavu.
The team returned to Suva last week, Thursday 16th May 2024.
