The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) proudly announced the signing of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System agreement with Fiji National University (FNU).
This partnership marks a significant step in TLTB’s journey towards excellence, as FNU will provide the training and consultancy support necessary for TLTB to implement the ISO 9001:2015 standards.
TLTB CEO, Mr. Solomone Nata, highlighted that after achieving the President Level at the Fiji Business Excellence Awards in 2021, TLTB is eager to continue its journey of excellence. “We believe that ISO accreditation will set a global benchmark for us, helping us measure up and better serve our landowners, tenants, and stakeholders.”
This collaboration emphasizes our shared commitment to innovation, efficiency, and overall productivity improvement across organizations in Fiji.
FNU’s Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Isimeli Tagicakirewa, expressed that the agreement focuses on guiding TLTB through the process of achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification, a globally recognized standard for quality management systems (QMS). He also acknowledged the indigenous landowners of the land where the TLTB Building is located in Suva, the venue of the signing ceremony

Steps in the Certification Process:
- Initial Assessment: A thorough review of TLTB’s current processes and systems by NTPC’s team, led by Manager – Productivity and Innovation, Mr. Amrish Narayan, to identify gaps between existing practices and ISO 9001 standards.
- Training and Awareness: NTPC trainers will conduct comprehensive training to close the identified gaps.
- Documentation: NTPC will assist TLTB in developing and aligning necessary documentation with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Implementation: NTPC will provide continuous support in integrating new processes into TLTB’s daily operations.
- Internal Audits: Training a team of internal auditors at TLTB to regularly assess compliance with ISO standards.
- Management Review: TLTB’s management will regularly review the QMS’s performance to ensure continuous improvement.
- Pre-certification Readiness Audit: A final audit by NTPC before TLTB undergoes an independent certification audit.
FNU, through its National Training and Productivity Centre, has successfully delivered ISO implementation projects to several organizations across Fiji, including the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji, CRP Industries Limited, and more.
