SW Region CSR Initiative: A Day of Giving Back to Nature

The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) was honored to participate in the 2024 Investment and Savings Roadshow on the West Coast of the United States from October 8th to 13th. This initiative was organized by the Fiji Trade Commission North America in collaboration with the Fijian Diaspora, and included representatives from the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), Fijian Holding Unit Trust (FHUT), Sole Fintech, the Ministry of Lands, and Fiji Immigration.
The roadshow aimed to raise awareness among the Fijian Diaspora about investment opportunities back home, especially in land leasing and securing financial futures. The Fijian Diaspora in the U.S., estimated to be over 80,000 strong, plays a significant role in supporting Fiji, contributing around FJD 234 million in remittances from the U.S. in 2023.
CEO, Mr. Solomone Nata, and Manager Trust, Mr. Livai Tuvola, led discussions on:
– Investing in available land for leasing
– Pending lease money distribution
– Accessing minors’ funds
– TLTB’s new initiatives
The team visited key locations including San Francisco, Sacramento, and Santa Rosa, registering interest from over 140 individuals. Attendees were keen to learn about lease rates, document processing, payment modes, and investment options.
The roadshow was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the Fijian Diaspora and address their inquiries on securing land and investing for the future. Vinaka vakalevu to everyone who participated and supported this event.
