December 3, 2025The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) delivered essential tools to the Soqosoqo ni Marama (women’s group) of Vunidawa Village, Soloira, Naitasiri.
This initiative acknowledges the village’s support in hosting TLTB’s first-ever Senior Managers Meeting held in a village setting and aims to empower women’s economic activities within the community.
Speaking on behalf of the TLTB CEO and Board, General Manager Landowners Empowerment, Mr. Peni Qalo, expressed gratitude for the Land-Owning Unit’s patience, support, and cooperation.
“We thank the village for their warm hospitality and patience as we convened this meeting. The items provided today are not gifts, but tools to support the women in their business activities,” said Mr. Qalo.
Village chief, Turaga Vunivalu Ratu Villiame Roraitamata, acknowledged the partnership with TLTB and highlighted the positive impact the engagement has had on the community.
A representative of the Soqosoqo ni Marama shared their appreciation, noting that the tools arrived at a crucial time, given the significant responsibilities women carry in supporting their families and contributing to village development.
“These tools will greatly assist us in our work. Saving for such equipment is often difficult, so we are truly grateful.
The chairs, tables, water blaster, hosepipe, and brushcutter will be put to good use for the benefit of the village,” she said.
Tools to support the women’s business activities included:
• Two sets of chairs
• Five folding tables
