June 4, 2026In commemoration of World Environment Day, and its call to take collective action for our planet, the iTaukei Land Trust Board marked the occasion with a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
On Saturday, 6th June 2026, TLTB teams across Viti Levu, bringing together staff from the Western, Central, and Head Office, formed a joint taskforce for this important activity. This was also a co-sharing CSR initiative with Conservation International (CI), strengthening partnerships for environmental stewardship.
Team TLTB & CI carried out native tree planting at Naiyaulevu and Nanukuloa Village, alongside mangrove planting at Barotu Village, contributing to ecosystem restoration and supporting the long-term sustainability of the three villages.
TLTB Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Solomoni Nata highlighted the importance of participating in such initiatives, emphasizing that giving back to the environment is a shared responsibility. He noted that these efforts play a vital role in strengthening climate resilience while also supporting the wellbeing and livelihoods of the communities.
“Trees are essential to life, and initiatives like this mark a significant contribution to our environment and our people,” he said, acknowledging the lasting positive impact of the program.
This activity reflects strong commitment to environmental care, community partnership, and the 1spirit of service—working together towards a greener and more sustainable future.
