The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) continues its commitment to innovation and service excellence through investment in staff development and international learning opportunities.
Recently, Mr Nacanieli Basacala, IT Coordinator Projects, and Geospatial Information Assistant Ms Silipa Tauvoli participated in the KOICA–Korea University Capacity Building Programme on Digital Transformation held in the Republic of Korea. The programme exposed participants to world-leading digital government systems, smart city technologies, cyber security frameworks, open data initiatives, and artificial intelligence applications.
Throughout the training, participants visited advanced digital government institutions, including smart city command centres and integrated operations facilities that use real-time data to improve decision-making and public service delivery.
A key takeaway from the programme was the importance of integrated data systems, cyber security, and technology-driven public services. The lessons learnt have direct relevance to TLTB’s ongoing digital transformation journey, including improvements to lease administration, data governance, cyber security, and enhanced service delivery for landowners and lessees.
The trip highlighted opportunities for TLTB to develop a unified lease data platform, strengthen cyber security capabilities, improve data accessibility for landowners, and explore responsible Artificial Intelligence solutions to support business processes and decision-making.
TLTB remains committed to embracing innovation and leveraging global best practices to enhance the management of iTaukei land while providing more efficient, transparent, and responsive services to landowners and customers.
