VANUA WAILEVU TO PILOT THE NAIYALA GROWTH CENTRE PROJECT PROPOSAL
April 27, 2026The Dama Village Investment was proudly presented with a brand new 3-tonne Mitsubishi truck valued at $85,000 on Friday under the Taukei Development Fund Facility (TDFF).
This $100,000 TDFF assistance also included start-up capital to strengthen the village’s road cleaning operations under its contract with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA).
Doing the honours was CEO Mr. Solomone Nata, who handed over the truck to Dama Village Investment Committee representative Mr Jovesa Tagivetaua and in the presence of Committe Chairman Ratu Isikeli Tuiwailevu. Mr. Nata highlighted that “the province of Bua is one of the most remote and underutilised areas in Fiji, and TLTB is proud to demonstrate how development can transform opportunities for landowners.”
Representing the Development Committee, Mr. Jovesa Tagivetaua said that Dama Village Investment has secured a road cleaning contract with FRA, covering 63 kilometres at $400 per kilometre. Operating on a fixed-term basis and renewed annually, the contract ensures stable revenue to cover labour, fuel, equipment maintenance, and administration.
This initiative, formalised through a Memorandum of Agreement between FRA and the Dama Village Trustees, underscores the long-term sustainability of the operation. The committee expressed optimism that with TLTB’s support, the loan will be repaid successfully and pave the way for the execution of their wider business plan for the village.
